‘The Tree of Gezi Park’ was created during the Gezi Park protests in 2013. The protests united thousands of people across the country against the demolition plan of the Gezi Park. The traces of various demonstrations, civil disobedience, and forms of protest were archived and preserved in the log of the tree.
“The Tree of Gezi Park” was featured in Bant Magazine, Art and Culture Magazine based in Istanbul, Türkiye in 2013.
“The Tree of Gezi Park” was part of the “Torun” exhibition based in Ankara, Türkiye in 2014.
“The Tree of Gezi Park” was part of the “When Trees Speak” exhibition at Cendere Sanat Müzesi, co-curated by Ebru Yetiskin, and it encourages empathy while reflecting on our collective journey toward solidarity and foresight. This installation titled "Bearing Witness," incorporates "The Tree of Gezi Park," "Un-seeing Eye," and "my father says the red pines sulk," works I’ve created over the last decade. This exhibition took place in Istanbul, Türkiye in 2024.
