un-seeing eye
un-seeing eye

"un-seeing eye" is a ytong-carved face, shaped by nature's influence and crafted with stones and wood. The subtle scar symbolizes human impact, while plaster marks on the back reveal its origin. The engraved face with a blind third eye signifies the uncertainty of our future amidst the climate crisis, urging collective responsibility.

“un-seeing eye” was part of the “When Trees Speak” exhibition at Cendere Sanat Müzesi, co-curated by Ebru Yetiskin, and it encourages empathy while reflecting on our collective journey toward solidarity and foresight. This installation titled "Bearing Witness," incorporates "The Tree of Gezi Park," "Un-seeing Eye," and "my father says the red pines sulk," works I’ve created over the last decade. This exhibition took place in Istanbul, Türkiye in 2024.
