“White Spot” is a series of three artworks—“Fading Inward,” “Muted Voices,” and “Darkening Within”—addressing the oppressive regime currently experienced in Türkiye. The government seeks to intimidate, dishearten, and silence those who advocate for fundamental human rights. In today’s political climate, opposition from academics, intellectuals, and the media is punished, while violence and instability are encouraged.
Through these works, I aim to capture the psychological toll of living under oppression: the erosion of ideas, the loss of motivation, and the slow decline of mental well-being.
Using lenticular print technology, viewers witness this transformation as they move past the artwork. Walking to the right reveals a descent into repression and despair; walking to the left reverses the process, offering a glimpse of normalcy and resilience.
